Literature Text

The clouds they smiled with widened jaws
And, leaping from their lips,
I tumbled through the bruiséd sky
In spinning, tumbling flips.
Alone I fell but not for long:
My brothers joined me thus.
Around me sprang melodic song
Of pressing down the dust.
But I wished not to stay with them:
I wished to dance alone,
And mingle with my friends the leaves,
And prance among the stones.
I loped among the blades of grass,
And down the rainbows slid,
And Oh! I pranced a pretty dance
Upon a lover’s lids.
I worked among my friends the clouds,
Forging lightning bright,
And rode the spear back down to earth
Enthralled by wond’rous sight.
The flowers they all sang to me
And bowed their dainty heads:
For when I skipped among their stems
A happy tear they shed.
Free I ran, and through the clouds
I entered thus again;
For time I feared was drawing near
And nearer to the end.
But worry not, I’ll come once more
And dance among my friends
For Rain is never long to come
When Winter’s lifespan ends.
I spent quite a few days on this one; it was inspired by a poem my english teacher's little girl wrote entitled "things to do if you're the rain." Frankly all I read was the title, I couldn't discern the handwriting beneath ^^ But i thought this was cool. So yeah, I like this poem X3 *runs to go dance*

*jaw dropps!* this is really wonderful! the topic and rhyme and EVERYTHING. I only have a small sugguestion, the lines
"But I wish not to stay with them:
I wish to dance alone,"
have switched tenses from the rest of the poem, change them to past and they will be consistant with the rest. but other than that I am truly impressed with the work you have produced here, and encourage you to write poetry more often.
